After we have finished a show the cast is normally prone to the Post Show Blues but luckily there are EUGnS events in term three to look forward to.
Our first post-Patience outing was on the first day of the Easter holidays. EUGnS members that were still in Exeter went to the Musicroom on Sidwell Street, one of our Patience sponsors, and sang as part of their open day.
As some principals were missing, their parts had to be quickily learnt and sang by other members. A special mention goes to Dan Morris who did a brilliant job singing the part of the Major. The performance also gave us an opportunity to sing songs from past shows, for example "Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes" from The Gondoliers. We had a lovely time singing at the Musicroom, and can't wait to repeat the experience.
A new terms means a new committe and the EUGnS AGM took place on Tuesday 1st May. The AGM was well attended and all the candidates presented their cases well, Rosie Archer in particular, who delievered her self-composed poem, "An Ode to Organisation".

Friday the 4th May was then soon upon us and everyone spent the day preparing for the EUGnS President's Dinner at the Royal Clarence, Exeter. The event began with a champagne reception with everyone commenting just how lovely the girl's dresses were and how well Andy Henley scrubs up!
We then went into dinner, a fabulous three course meal, and emerged, rather full, for Tom Scallon's farewell speech.
And the society was then handed over to next years President.
The society then took to the floor and danced the night away to The Pookahs. Everyone has a wonderful night with many commenting it had been their favourite President's Dinner yet. Special thanks goes to Alice Massey (Social Secretary 2011-12) for organising the evening.
Many members of the society are leaving Exeter University this year, and we would like to thank everyone for making our time in the Gilbert and Sullivan Society fantastic. Many of us feel that EUGnS has been the highlight of our University years.
We would like to wish the remaining members of the Society the best of luck for their future productions. We shall miss EUGnS very much indeed. In the wonderful words of Mad Margaret:
"They sing choruses in public. That's mad enough I think!"
